Registration for spring quarter 2020 opens March 2, 2020.

The spring quarter flyers will be posted soon!.

Hopelink’s free English for Work classes help immigrants and refugees reach their goals in the United States! Students improve their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while preparing to get a job.

Students learn to:

  • Set goals for life in the U.S.
  • Identify and speak about their skills and experience
  • Search for jobs
  • Write a resume and a cover letter
  • Perform a job interview
  • Work in a team
  • And more!

English for Work includes classroom learning and online learning. Students attend class, learn content from the English for Work textbook, participate in mock interviews, and practice English with classmates. Students complete homework on the Internet to reinforce what they are learning in class. Teachers are prepared to help students learn how to use technology.

We know that people learn in different ways, so we value offering a variety of opportunities for our students!

Students are divided into classes based on English ability. Students with beginning and low-intermediate level English skills study in one class, and students with high-intermediate and advanced level skills study in another class.

To enroll in English for Work, students must:

  • Plan to get a job, or attend a college or job training program in the U.S.
  • Be able to attend class twice a week (three times a week in summer)
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Not have a B, F, J or M visa

When space is limited, low-income students have priority for enrollment.

Classes are offered in fall, winter, spring, and summer. Locations include Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, and Shoreline. There are morning and evening schedule options.
