Hopelink offers gas reimbursement for Medicaid-eligible clients traveling to and from medical appointments. Clients who are eligible for transportation through their Benefit Service Package may receive reimbursement at a rate of $0.35 per mile. The driver does not need to be the client and may be a friend, family member, case manager, or other support person.

How does it work?

To be screened for travel assistance, call Hopelink’s Transportation Reservation Hotline or send us a fax. When you contact us, please have your trip details and your nine-digit Medicaid ID number (ProviderOne number) ready so we can set up your account.

Client Information

  • Trips must be reported after the appointment has occurred (post-appointment).
  • Requests must be submitted within 30 days of the appointment. Submissions received after 30 days may be denied.
  • Clients can expect to receive payments within 7 – 14 business days

Healthcare Facility Information

  • Clients will need your support completing the form after appointments.
  • The provider (medical professional) who saw the client should sign to confirm the visit occurred.
  • Hopelink is a HIPAA Business Associate. Any inquiries made on behalf of a client are only for verifying appointment attendance.

Your PEX card and checks will be mailed to the address you provide when you call in your appointments. You will want to ensure the address you provide is safe and secure.

Please allow 8-10 business days from when you submit your trips to receive the funds on your PEX Card. There are times we may need to speak with the medical facility before we can load funds onto your card. If we’re unable to contact the facility, this could contribute to potential delays. Business days are Monday to Friday unless there is a holiday.
 

No. Your PEX Card will be loaded at the rate of $.35 cents per mile. The shortest geographical route will be used when determining the mileage for your trip.

Your gas cards will be sent with a letter that gives the number of trips and total dollar amount available on your PEX gas card in the envelope. This will occur the first time you receive the card. Since you will keep this card indefinitely for all future gas card trips, you can check your funds on the card by calling 1-866-685-0898. You can also call Hopelink at the number provided in this letter for specific trip details.
 

You should call Hopelink at 1-800-923-7433 (King County) or 1-855-766-7433 (Snohomish County) so we can further investigate the matter. If the Customer Service Representative is unable to resolve your concern, they can escalate on your behalf by filing a formal concern. clients can expect to be contacted via written notice or phone.
 

You may schedule future trips for reimbursement up to and including December 31, 2025. Beginning January 1, 2026, only trips that have already occurred will be eligible.
