About the Campaign
As school bells ring for the final time this summer, many children look forward to sun-soaked days spent outside with friends. But for many families across our region, summer also brings uncertainty about consistent access to food. In the 2024–2025 school year, 20,001 students within Hopelink’s service area were eligible for free or reduced-price school meal programs, highlighting how many children rely on school for daily nutrition during the academic year.
At the same time, 1 in 5 children in the United States lives in a household without consistent access to food, and local need continues to grow. Hopelink’s Food Assistance program experienced a 12% increase in monthly usage, serving more than 9,750 individuals on average each month from January 2025 to January 2026. As food insecurity rises, more neighbors turn to Hopelink’s no-cost Food Markets for fresh, easy to prepare, culturally relevant groceries.
This is where Hopelink’s End Summer Hunger campaign comes in. It takes the whole community working together to bridge the gap. Please donate today to End Summer Hunger so every child has access to nutritious food this summer.
We’re here to assist you throughout the giving process. If you have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out at donate@hopelink.org.
