Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in the north and east King County, WA. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline and Sno-Valley (Carnation), we are the largest nonprofit organization in the area. Hopelink programs and services focus on five key areas: food, financial assistance, housing & family development, adult education & employment and transportation/mobility. Programs are aimed at helping people achieve stability, and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.

Hopelink has immediate openings for DART Community and Shuttle drivers throughout King County at our Kent and Kirkland, WA location. This position will operate days, evenings and weekends on a fixed route with a flexible service area.

Get paid while you train for a new career in driving!

As a subcontractor working with King County Metro, Hopelink will pay your wages and training onsite in preparation for your CDL Class C with passenger endorsement license. Applicants with CDL A/B/C passenger endorsements are encouraged to apply!

To be eligible, you must be...

  • Be at least 21 years old at the time you apply and able to lift and pull up to 40 pounds
  • Hold a valid Washington driver’s license, and have the ability to obtain a CDL Learner’s Permit with Passenger Endorsement
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience providing customer service to the general public
  • Have an acceptable driving record at the time of offer
  • Any of the following violations within the last five years will automatically disqualify you from consideration:
  • Reckless or negligent driving
  • DWI/DUI (driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs)
  • Hit-and-run incident
  • Vehicular homicide or vehicular assault
  • Open container citation
  • More than one “at fault” accident within the past year
  • Suspended license for moving violations
  • Reliable transportation to report on-time to work
  • Be able to speak and write in English
  • Verifiable acceptable work history and employment references

Summary: The DART Dispatcher maintains radio contact with transit operators, receives and records trip information, schedules trips to vehicles, resolves on-the-road problems or refers problems to others for resolution. Works closely with other dispatchers in a small team environment.

Summary: The Operations Manager helps set the vision, direction, and culture of Hopelink’s Transportation Brokerage team. Maintains singular focus on improving the customer experience, manages individual and team performance and goals, and directs the team to successful performance of contractual service requirements. The Operations Manager serves as leader and point of contact for escalated contact resolutions and actively contributes to the Division’s leadership team. The Operations Manager is a critical role; providing independent problem solving and a sense of ownership for the success of the team. Summary: The Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring Hopelink’s compliance with regulations, standards, and contractual requirements affecting its several Transportation departments. Duties include identifying the risk and legal exposures facing the Transportation Business Unit, evaluating and implementing appropriate compliance options and collaborating with internal/external stakeholders to create policies, plans, procedures and training curriculum to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance. The ideal candidate approaches regulatory and contract compliance with a problem solving mindset and takes ownership of the processes. This candidate will come with a background in regulatory and contractual compliance in transportation, nonprofit, healthcare, or related field.

Summary: Hopelink’s Mobility Management team empowers people to change their lives by facilitating access to the community. We do this by (1) supporting the coordination of special needs transportation through cross-sector collaborations to improve transportation services and (2) providing travel education and resources to build awareness of existing transportation options. We work to make it easier for all people to get around King County through innovative, entrepreneurial, collaborative problem solving. The position provides staff support to key mobility management projects and initiatives and mobility coalitions as well as assists in the education and outreach of transportation resources. The Mobility Coordinator advocates for those who need transportation, facilitates discussion, teaches, connects and partners with organizations to champion transportation solutions. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self motivated, and posses an enterprising spirit and passion for making an impact in the local community.

Summary:The Eligibility and Resource Specialist (ERS) meets with a high volume of clients one-on-one, determines client eligibility, and enrolls clients to receive Energy Assistance grants and Food Bank Services. ERS staff are responsible for entering data accurately and efficiently into our Client Track database. They provide excellent customer service to all who walk through the door and respond promptly to phone and e-mail inquiries. The Energy Program is very fast paced and attention to detail is crucial. This position requires the ability to multi-task, stay calm under pressure and deescalate issues when necessary. ERS must be comfortable working with families and individuals that may be in crisis, suffer from mental illness, and/or are experiencing homelessness.

Summary: The Food Bank Coordinator provides coordination of the food program at the Kirkland Northshore Center; provides guidance, direction, and supervision to volunteer staff. Responsible for weekly ordering of fresh and non-perishable food from multiple sources, maintains food bank inventory and overall cleanliness of food bank. Performs client intake, determines client eligibility, and provides appropriate information and referral.

Summary: The Adult Education Coordinator/ESL Teacher delivers Adult Education programs to prepare adults for careers. Programs may include: English Language Acquisition, GED/High School 21+, and Integrated Education and Training. The Adult Education Coordinator implements programs in accordance with established standards and requirements to meet program goals and outcome targets.

The Adult Education Coordinator currently teaches work-focused English language classes in Redmond and Bellevue. The Redmond class is Mon & Thurs from 5:30PM-8:00PM and the Bellevue class is Tues & Thurs 9:00AM-11:30AM. Work hours outside of class time are flexible, yet busy and may include activities at various Hopelink locations in North and East King County. Activities may include: supporting students with individual needs, evaluating students’ online assignments, and collaborating with team members to improve service to students, etc. Current teaching schedule continues through the upcoming spring quarter and is subject to change after. The position may be responsible for classes in other locations in Hopelink’s service area. Flexibility and reliable personal transportation are essential.

Summary:The Development Assistant provides administrative support to the Development and Communications teams by supporting team activities; scheduling meetings, preparing materials, maintaining supplies, assisting with various fundraising/donor events, appeals, mailings, backup data entry and special projects. The Development Assistant provides responsive and positive customer service to internal staff as well as volunteers, donors, and community members.
