At Hopelink, we believe every family and child should enjoy a happy holiday season. Hopelink’s holiday gift rooms can help you do just that. Every December, our food banks are transformed into holiday wonderlands that are filled with new electronics, books, games, clothes, toys and stocking stuffers – enabling parents and grandparents to shop, at no cost, for their children or grandchildren. Hopelink gift rooms help parents who may not otherwise be able to provide presents during the holidays. Gifts come from many different sources, including local toy drives, corporate-sponsored giving trees and individual donors, and all of the gifts are brand new, unopened and unwrapped. The gift rooms are staffed by Hopelink volunteers who serve as “personal shoppers” for each parent or grandparent. Hopelink staff and volunteers alike say there is nothing more exciting than seeing a parent’s face light up when they find the perfect present for their child!
Currently registered food bank clients begin signing up for gift room appointments on October 21. If you qualify for a Hopelink program but are NOT already registered with Hopelink, you will need to either sign up as a food bank client, or bring current proof of your address along with IDs for all children in the household to your local center to receive a gift room appointment. Appointments for non-clients can be made starting November 4. We ask that only one parent per household attends and that no children enter the gift rooms.
To sign up for a gift room date, call your local service center or sign up in person on or before December 7.
